Hello!
My name is Michelle Cheng and I’m a Toronto / LA based story artist. I’m currently completing my final year of Character Animation at CalArts, and will be looking for opportunities starting Summer 2024.
I love filmmaking not only as a means of expression, but also as a gateway to learning about places far from my own. My sophomore film “Birdsong”, later nominated for the Annie Awards, allowed me to delve into the unique ecological problems facing the Hawaiian Islands.
Outside of drawing, I spend my free time writing educational videos, exploring neighbourhoods with my camera, and trying to cram as many foreign languages into my brain before it succumbs to the rigidity of age.
